The remodelling of this ship is remarkable. It appears as a new ship and for the money you cannot beat these four or five day cruises aboard the Inspiration. Evolutions of Fun refurbishments have been completed onboard the Carnival Inspiration. The enhancements made to the ship include completely redesigned interior decor, newly refurbished showlounges, bars and public spaces. All staterooms have been outfitted with the Carnival Comfort Bed system and have received upgrades in the bathroom, with porcelain sinks. In addition every stateroom has a new interior color scheme and flat screen TVs. Most notably are the additions that have been made to the Lido deck. The Lido restaurant has received a complete cosmetic renovation and new furnishings. The Lido deck itsself has also received a complete re-design. The slide has been removed which provides more walking space on the starboard side of the ship. In addition, spiral staircases were added mid-deck for passengers to descend from the Verandah Deck. The pools were thoroughly cleaned and redesigned with faux palm tree coverings over several bench areas. The whirlpools have also received new tiling and palm tree canopies. The performance stage received a new cover.

Parnell says oil tax ads paint an 'incomplete picture' - JUNEAU -- Ads run by an energy industry trade group give an "incomplete picture" of the effect of Alaska's oil and gas production tax, Gov. Sean Parnell said Tuesday. The Alaska Support Industry Alliance has been running ads showing what it says are the faces of "real Alaskans" who have lost jobs or business because of oil industry cuts.
Senate majority wants more capital spending - JUNEAU -- While higher-than-expected oil prices have fattened state coffers, Gov. Sean Parnell said Tuesday he's imposing spending restraint in the Capitol. It's a concept lawmakers say they buy into, but there's debate over how the pennies should fall. Parnell wants to limit spending to $400 million in state general funds for capital projects, in addition to projects, such as a new crime lab, moving separately through the Legislature. Members of the Senate's bipartisan majority, however, see that plan as leaving lawmakers with about $100 million that they would have to share for projects back home -- far less than the $400 million to $500 million that Senate President Gary Stevens believes many legislators would prefer.
