What should it be the Outer Banks or Myrtle Beach?

It is the classic battle of North and South. North and South Carolina that is. With the vacation dollar becoming ever elusive in this economy, the battle for the tourist visit for a North Carolina Outer Banks vacation rental and South Carolina’s Myrtle Beach vacation rentals rages on. The thing is, they are both different. Which one appeals to you and your lifestyle?

Outer Banks

The Outer Banks has a lot to offer in terms of a real getaway. If the type of vacation you want is laid back, relaxing but with outdoors action potential consider the Outer Banks. The spectacular barrier islands, white sand beaches, lighthouses, history steeped in mystery, pirates and even an Elizabethan Garden on Roanoke Island. The Graveyard of the Atlantic is here off this windswept coast. The Outer Banks has a great Museum dedicated to shipwrecks on Hatteras Island. The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum is one attraction not to miss.

The Outer Banks has lots of Parks and wildlife. Of course, wildlife is different here than in Myrtle Beach. One involves enjoying nature and the other has some aspects of the wild party life. Consider these Outer Banks parks for vacation variety;Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Jockey’s Ridge State Park, Nature Conservancy at Nags Head Woods, North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island, Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, Roanoke Island Festival Park, Roanoke Island Maritime Center and U.S.A.C.E, Field Research Facility “Duck Pier”.

An Outer Banks vacation can be one of relaxation plus adventure on the waves with some of the best surfing and kite boarding on the East Coast. Our oceanfront vacation rating would be; relaxation 7 out of 10, fun and action 5 out of 10.

Myrtle Beach

The vacation area has over 1500 restaurants, lots of live shows and over 100 golf courses. Round out the vacation itinerary with amusement parks and fabulous shopping, Myrtle Beach is a tourist paradise. Corporations book conventions in Myrtle Beach for a reason; the employees actually want to go there, so participation is high. Activities include relaxing on the beach, golfing, para sailing, swimming, surfing, and deep sea fishing.

In Myrtle Beach you have variety and you have competition for the tourist dollar. Competition and variety equals value for you. Take your time to search for Myrtle Beach rentals. Well priced vacation rentals and affordable rental vacations abound. A Myrtle Beach vacation can be one of those action packed adventures on the beach, or just relaxing in the sun. Our oceanfront vacation rating would be; relaxation 5 out of 10, fun and action 8 out of 10.

So there you have it, a tale of two states, North vs South. North Carolina’s Outer Banks is a more laid back, out of the hustle and bustle type of vacation. Myrtle Beach is in the heart of the action with lots to see and do, but relaxation is there if you want it. Whichever one you choose will be a fantastic vacation destination.
